As I sit here, I close my eyes and ponder the will and motive of man. I think about the driving force that guides one to do what they do. I think about those affected by such means to an end and wonder what have we done? In this day and age, does freedom exist, or is it a mirage of disillusion propped up by meaningless propaganda spouted by the powers that be? What comes to mind is logic, reason, and truth, three inevitable axioms that guide a nation and world forward during its darkest hour. Today I am here to talk about one man and his mission for mismanaged and absolute power.
Promises. In this world of Machiavellian ethics and principles, one spues out jargon of promises for a better tomorrow, but from within wains for efforts to guide his self-interest into the dawn of tomorrow. What fails to allude me are the efforts of one man and his cronies to promise a middle class so eager to hold onto every word, idea, and truth such that they will lay down to such powers that be in hopes that a new world will emerge where they are better off, but is this ever so true? Take off the red tie and blue suit and you have an emperor with no clothes, and a tale of totalitarianism.
Strip of a man of his words, piece by piece, gather intelligence, and write says my inner most conscious thought. These are trying times, unchecked and unlimited powers, those of the likes we haven't seen since the post 09/11 Bush era. Neo-Conservatives have a new brand, a new figurehead, a new dictator, and that is Donald Trump.
We begin this journey of totalitarianism by discussing the concept of checks and balances. The balance of power in the United States is safeguarded by this concept. Each branch of government has power over the other. This safeguard protects the republic from dictatorship. The courts hold at bay, representatives and the president alike from gaining too much power by means of unconstitutional laws and executive orders. From my gazing eye, I find this truth to be self-evident that the power of the court is being subjugated by the executive branch. What better way to conquer a nation by going after its lifeline of constitutionality. In addition, we see Congress helpless in appeasing such a dictatorial leader. The backbone of a true republic falls on the minds of independent and courageous leaders. Why do you appease a man so willing to grab at power, instead of igniting a flicker of a flame from within to stand up and fight for what's necessary and proper for a nation to withstand such dictatorial means. In less than 9 months, we have seen the President pass 161 executive orders, more than Biden passed in 4 years. Are you afraid of losing your job or your dignity as a member of the greatest country on Earth? Why leave it up to the courts to decide the fate of a nation when you have the power to stand up to the emperor with no clothes, and so the tale of totalitarianism continues.
For the people, the sovereign citizens of this great nation that I stand before today, in this moment, I fear not what one man will do, but I fear what the people will not do. Freedom, the very word that reigns supreme in this very nation is dissolving before our very eyes. The Bill of Rights, the lifeline of a nation just 250 years away from dictatorship, is the backbone of this free and independent society. Freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, and religion are at the precipice, leading out over the gorge below. What a nation will become when these very principles are wiped away by the tsunami of a man out for his own self-interest hiding like a wolf in sheep's clothes by the idea of making America great again. Fear not what a nation's government can do to you, but what you will let a nation become under the rule of a misguided man. What is a nation state without freedom of information, freedom of ideas, freedom of disagreement, the very principles that make a country whole. Take away such means brings about a bitter end, a one-sided arena of lost hope in a world so different from yester year. One can say what they wish about the leaders of the past, but never in such a lifetime have I seen such means to an end in which a leader wishes to squash the words, wisdom, and reassurance that the republic is not lost to the cries of its people. Total control of the flow of information is the work of a totalitarian, one of which we haven't seen ever in this nation's history.
Totalitarianism by definition is a system of government that is centralized and dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state. Companies and people alike need to stand up and face the burning truth. The million-dollar question arises in my mind: Will you? We live in such trying times, where money and power reign supreme, where choices are not merely decisions to be made, but are things to be held onto, but like sand will you let it slip away? Will you hold onto the notion that this nation is at risk of failure, guided by men who wish to control the narrative by stripping away freedoms at such an alarming rate? Will you hold onto what a dear to you, what is necessary and proper for a nation to thrive, the life force that guides us through hell or high waters, these freedoms we hold so deeply within?
